Terms & Conditions
Last updated: October 2026
These terms govern your use of TheNailWiki (the "site"). By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1. About the site
TheNailWiki is a professional nail knowledge platform, part of Artistic Touch Nail Training Academy. It provides educational articles, professional courses information, and a directory of nail professionals and salons.
2. Educational content — not medical advice
All content on the site is provided for professional education and general information only. It is not medical, diagnostic, or health advice. For any concern about a nail condition or your health, consult an appropriately qualified healthcare professional. You are responsible for how you apply any information in your own practice.
3. Professional profiles and the directory
If you submit a professional or salon profile, you confirm that the information and images you provide are accurate, belong to you, or that you have permission to use them. Profiles are reviewed before publication, and we may decline, edit for clarity and presentation, or remove a profile at our discretion. Being listed in the directory is not an endorsement, certification, or guarantee of any professional's services.
4. Acceptable use
- Do not use the site unlawfully or in a way that harms it or its users.
- Do not submit false, misleading, offensive, or infringing content.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, copy at scale, or gain unauthorised access to the site.
- Do not use the site's content, including its images, to train, fine-tune or test artificial intelligence or machine-learning systems, or to generate new or altered content (see section 6).
5. Intellectual property
The site's articles, design, and branding are owned by TheNailWiki or its licensors and are protected by law. You may read and share links to content for personal, non-commercial use. You may not republish or reproduce content without permission. Where you submit content, the licence you grant us is set out in section 7.
6. Images, copyright and artificial intelligence
All images on TheNailWiki, including photographs, diagrams, illustrations, charts and graphics, are protected by copyright. Unless an image is credited to a third party, TheNailWiki owns the copyright in it, or uses it under licence from the rights holder.
- Permission is required. No one may copy, download, reproduce, republish, distribute, display, modify, crop, adapt, sell or otherwise use any image from the site, in whole or in part, without our prior written permission. This applies to everyone, including contributors, professionals, salons, educators, brands, publishers and members of the public. Contact us through the contact page to ask. Permission, if given, may be subject to conditions such as credit and a link back to TheNailWiki.
- No artificial intelligence use. Images and other content on the site must not be used to train, fine-tune, test or improve any artificial intelligence or machine-learning model. They must not be uploaded, entered or supplied to any artificial intelligence tool or service to create new images, or to create copies, variations, alterations, edits or "tweaked" versions of them. This applies to automated collection such as scraping and to manual use alike.
- Other people's images. Images credited to a third party belong to that party or its licensors. You must ask the rights holder, not us, for permission to use them.
- Contributed images. Photographs and images you submit remain your copyright, subject to the licence you grant us in section 7. Once published on TheNailWiki, the published image is protected as described in this section, and others may not use it without permission. Please tell us if you want to reuse an image that has been published here.
- Enforcement. We may take action, including requesting removal and pursuing legal remedies, against any unauthorised use of images or content from the site.
7. Expert contributions and submissions
This section applies if you submit an article, case study, technical insight, story, photograph or other material (a "contribution") through our Submit Your Nail Knowledge page or any other route. Contributing is free. The programme is separate from any paid services on the site, and it does not accept advertising, promotional articles, product sales pitches or disguised marketing.
- No guarantee. We consider every contribution, but we do not promise publication, backlinks, traffic, search ranking or any particular level of exposure. We may decline, delay or withdraw a contribution at our discretion.
- Your work and our licence. You keep ownership of the copyright in your original work. By submitting a contribution, you grant TheNailWiki a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to edit, publish, display, reproduce and promote the accepted material on the site and on our related channels (such as our newsletter and social media), in any format. The licence continues for as long as the material remains published, and for a reasonable period afterwards for archives, caches and backups. You may still publish your own work elsewhere, but please tell us if you have already published it or have given exclusive rights to anyone else. You may ask us to remove your contribution, and we will do so within a reasonable time, although we cannot recall copies that others have already made lawfully.
- Editing. We may edit contributions for grammar, clarity, formatting and house style. We will agree any substantial technical changes with you before publication.
- Credit. Accepted articles will normally include your name, relevant credentials and a short biography. A link to your professional website may be included where appropriate. We decide whether a link is suitable and how it is presented.
- Evidence of expertise. We may ask for qualifications, professional experience, references or other supporting evidence, particularly for scientific and medical content, and we may decline a contribution if it is not provided.
- What you confirm. You confirm that the contribution is your own original work, that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge, that it falls within your area of competence, that it does not infringe anyone else's rights, and that it is not defamatory, misleading or promotional. You confirm that you own, or have permission to submit, any photographs and other material you upload.
- Photographs and images. You keep the copyright in photographs and images that you created. By submitting them, you grant TheNailWiki the licence described above to edit (for example, crop or resize), publish, display and promote them, with credit to you where we publish them. You must not submit images that someone else owns, including images taken from social media, other websites, brands or training providers, unless you hold written permission to license them to us on these terms. If another photographer or rights holder created the image, tell us their name so that we can credit them. Section 6 applies to images once published, including the rule against use in artificial intelligence. We may remove any image if we have a concern about ownership, consent or suitability.
- People in images. Where a person can be identified in a photograph, including a client, you must have their consent for the image to be published and for the licence described above. Do not submit images of clients without that consent.
- Disclosure. You must tell us about any commercial relationship, sponsorship, employment or financial interest connected with your contribution, so that we can disclose it where relevant under our editorial standards.
- Responsibility. Contributors are responsible for the content they supply. Publication on TheNailWiki is not an endorsement of a contributor's views, products or services.
How we handle the personal data you provide with a contribution is explained in our Privacy Policy.
8. Third-party links
The site may link to external websites, including professionals' own booking pages and social profiles. We are not responsible for the content, products, or practices of those sites.
9. Payments
Where paid membership is offered, the price and what is included are shown before purchase. Memberships are a one-time payment for lifetime access and are non-refundable, except where a refund is required by law.
10. Disclaimer and liability
The site is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for any loss arising from reliance on the content or from use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows when they last changed.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales.
